A prospective corps member from Obi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State was abducted on the Akwanga–Jos highway. Gift David Samiya was en route from Lafia to the NYSC orientation camp in Maiduguri on April 21, 2026. His brother confirmed the incident. The kidnappers have contacted the family and are demanding a N10 million ransom for his release. Gift is a graduate of the University of Maiduguri. The family has alerted security authorities and is appealing for urgent assistance.
