ECOWAS 2026 Recruitment Drive: Over 30 Roles Open to Nigerians and Regional Applicants

ECOWAS has launched its 2026 recruitment exercise and is inviting candidates from member states, including Nigeria, to apply for more than 30 positions. The drive aims to strengthen the implementation of regional programmes. Vacancies in Abuja include Office Aide, Programme Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager, Junior Accountant, Accountant, Legal Officer, Political Adviser, Principal Officer, Registrar, and Heads of Division. Additional roles are available in Addis Ababa, Liberia, Conakry and Dakar across administrative, finance, programme, water and sanitation, and legal functions. Applicants must meet age limits for each grade: 35 years for General Services (G1–G7), 45 years for Professional levels (P1–P7), and 50 years for Director grades (D1–D2). Interested candidates should complete the official ECOWAS application form, attach a CV and cover letter, and submit by email. Applications close on April 30, 2026. ECOWAS warns against recruitment scams and confirms there are no fees. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Female applicants are especially encouraged to apply.

It's ambitious to fill over 30 positions, but I wonder if the hiring process will be transparent and efficient.

I'm not convinced every applicant stands an equal chance without the right connections behind the scenes.
