Two Women Killed by Truck on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Mowe-Ibafo
Two women lost their lives on Thursday evening after being struck by a truck while crossing the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the Mowe-Ibafo axis of Ogun State. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at Car Park C outbound. A white Mini Howo truck ran down the pedestrians, according to the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE). Emergency teams from TRACE, Ogun State EMS, Amotekun and the Redeemed Police Motor Traffic Division arrived within minutes. One victim died at the scene, and the second passed away en route to a nearby hospital. Both bodies were deposited in the morgue for further examination. Traffic was partially disrupted before normal flow resumed after the wreckage was cleared. Police have launched an investigation, while road safety officials urged pedestrians to use designated crossings on high-speed highways.
