Super Eagles Target: NFF in Talks with Emmanuel Fernandez
The Nigeria Football Federation has opened direct talks with Rangers centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez ahead of the Super Eagles squad announcement. Born in London, Fernandez qualifies for England but has long expressed his desire to represent Nigeria, the land of his father. He has enjoyed a standout season with six goals in 26 appearances and was named his club’s Player of the Month for January 2026. Manager Eric Chelle is expected to invite the 24-year-old to train with the national team, following the integration method used for Felix Agu last summer. The Super Eagles will face Iran on March 27 and Jordan on March 31 in friendly matches in Turkey.
