Sterling Financial Crosses ₦4 Trillion Asset Base, Posts 89% Profit Surge in FY25
Sterling Financial Holdings delivered record earnings in FY2025. Gross earnings rose 44.4% to ₦486.8 billion, profit before tax jumped 89.2% to ₦86.8 billion and profit after tax climbed 74.8% to ₦76.3 billion. The group’s balance sheet strengthened significantly. Total assets reached ₦3.91 trillion, customer deposits grew to ₦2.98 trillion, loans and advances stood at ₦1.41 trillion and shareholders’ funds expanded by 40.5% to ₦428.7 billion. Momentum continued into Q1 2026. Total assets crossed the ₦4 trillion mark at ₦4.07 trillion. Gross earnings rose 41.6% to ₦134.8 billion and net interest income increased 36.8% to ₦64.9 billion. Profit after tax for the period was ₦23.4 billion. A successful recapitalisation lifted shareholders’ funds further to ₦542.5 billion. The group is now poised for the next growth phase across commercial banking, non-interest banking and wealth management.
