Over 20 Reportedly Killed in Overnight Attack on Binper Community, Plateau
More than 20 people were reportedly killed after gunmen attacked Binper community in Bwai District, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, between Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday, August 18. The attack came less than a week after three people were killed amid mutual arson accusations involving Fulani and Mwaghavul communities. The Mwaghavul Development Association said the attackers entered the community around midnight while residents were asleep. An eyewitness said the attackers moved from house to house, forcing their way into homes and attacking residents. Several people were reportedly injured, while others were still missing. Security officials had not commented at the time of the report.
