Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price to ₦1,075/Litre, Opens Gantry to All Marketers

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit to ₦1,075 per litre, down from ₦1,125. It has also aligned its coastal loading price at ₦1,075 per litre and suspended its consortium marketing arrangement, opening gantry loading to all qualified marketers. This decision follows calls by the government and the downstream petroleum regulator for domestic prices to reflect international market trends. It aims to make locally refined petrol more competitive and broaden supply access nationwide. Analysts say the move could force importers and private depot owners to lower their prices under the deregulated regime. If marketers pass on the savings, motorists may soon pay less at the pump.
