Lagos Commissions Agege Food Hub With Storage for 1,100 Tonnes of Produce

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned a middle-level food hub at Pen Cinema in Agege as part of Lagos State’s food security and distribution plan. Built on 7,000 square metres, the facility has a 4,000-square-metre trading floor, space for about 350 to 400 traders, 800 metric tonnes of dry storage and 300 metric tonnes of cold storage. It also includes a dedicated seafood section, parking for 90 vehicles and 10 electric-vehicle charging points. The hub is intended to link farmers, aggregators, wholesalers, retailers and consumers through improved produce handling, quality control, storage, sanitation and waste management. It will receive supplies from the planned central logistics hub at Ketu Ereyun, alongside other middle-level hubs such as Mushin.
