Benjamin Pavard’s wife and her brother surprised five intruders in the garden of their Marseille home one evening. The group fled in a Mercedes when they were spotted and were later arrested by police. Pavard himself was away at the time of the break-in. The attempted burglary came just days after the 30-year-old defender confirmed his departure from Marseille, leaving him a free agent following his loan from Inter Milan. Pavard rose to prominence by winning the 2018 World Cup with France and has since collected major honours with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, though he was omitted from France’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
