14-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Attempted Stowaway at Lagos Airport
A 14-year-old boy, identified as Eke Miracle, was arrested by the Airport Police Command at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. He was found on the tarmac after trying to gain access under an aircraft, leading to a serious aviation security breach. ASP Mohammed Adeola, the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, said initial inquiries showed the teenager had entered a restricted zone without permission. He was taken into custody under child protection guidelines, and his parents were informed before any interviews took place. Commissioner of Police Ogunbode Olufunke stressed the importance of strict security measures at all airports. She urged parents to monitor their children’s movements near restricted areas. The case will be processed under Nigeria’s juvenile justice system, and the minor will face the appropriate court.
