Super Eagles Quartet to Don Historic Throwback Kits at LaLiga Legends Matchday

Super Eagles Quartet to Don Historic Throwback Kits at LaLiga Legends Matchday — 1 of 5
1 / 5

LaLiga is staging its first-ever Retro Matchday from April 10 to 13. Four Super Eagles stars – Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke and Umar Sadiq – will swap their modern jerseys for iconic throwback kits. The initiative, themed “A Living Legacy,” also features vintage broadcast graphics and a retro match ball for an authentic 1980s and 90s viewing experience. While the kits celebrate Spanish football’s storied past, the competition remains intense. Lookman’s Atletico Madrid and Sadiq’s Valencia are battling for European qualification. Sevilla’s Adams and Ejuke have been among their club’s top scorers this season. This unique fusion of nostalgia and high-stakes football gives Nigeria’s brightest stars a chance to add their names to football history.

Are you more drawn to a '90s green-and-white design or something from our early 2000s era?

I see the appeal of that classic green-and-white design, though I'm a bit doubtful it'll look fresh today.

It's interesting how LaLiga uses nostalgia to create buzz, though fans might be more excited by current performances than vintage jerseys.

I think rolling out throwback kits feels more like a marketing stunt than a genuine tribute to Super Eagles history.

To celebrate this matchday, try pairing a throwback jersey with classic denim and share your look for a fun retro vibe.
