Probe Launched After MACBAN Benue Chairman and Associate Killed on Otukpo Road
The police in Benue State have opened a full-scale investigation into the murder of Alhaji Risku Mohammed, chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue, and one Yakubu Isa. Both victims were attacked by unknown assailants as they returned from a security meeting along the Okwudu-Ogoli Road in Otukpo. State Commissioner of Police Cletus Nwadiogbu condemned the killings as senseless acts that threaten ongoing peace efforts. He extended condolences to the families and confirmed that tactical and intelligence units have been deployed to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible.
