Oyo State NUT Unveils New Executive Council at Ibadan Conference

The Oyo State wing of the Nigerian Union of Teachers elected a new executive team at its 8th quadrennial Delegates Conference in Ibadan. The officers will serve a four-year term. The national president underscored the union’s democratic foundations and its focus on teachers’ welfare. The outgoing chairman recapped wins from 2022 to 2026, citing prompt salary payments, arrears clearance and major infrastructure projects. The incoming chairman pledged to safeguard the profession’s integrity and to work closely with members for better teaching and learning conditions. He also promised continued advocacy for teacher recruitment, promotions and capacity building. Key officers include Adeleke Adesina (deputy chairman), Alonge Oluyemisi (first vice chairman), Morakinyo Oyebola (second vice chairman) and Badmus Abiona (third vice chairman), with other roles filled by Titilolu Ibukunolu (treasurer), Dada Kabirat (internal auditor) and Ajala Niyi (publicity secretary).
