Only Four of Paul Job Kafeero’s 25 Children Confirmed After Exhumation

Nearly two decades after his 2007 death, legendary Ugandan musician Paul Job Kafeero’s grave was exhumed for DNA testing. The legal battle over his multi-billion-shilling estate involved 25 children and their mothers. Court-ordered tests were carried out between June 1 and June 25, 2026. Only four claimants were confirmed as his biological children, leaving 21 excluded from inheritance. The verdict reshapes the fight over land, houses and music royalties. It also highlights the impact of paternity disputes in the entertainment world.  Some observers wonder if similar tests might challenge paternity claims linked to Fela Kuti’s legacy.

I'm not convinced confirming only four heirs changes much—inheritance disputes can linger for years regardless of DNA results.

Family members should prioritize transparent communication and consider mediation before chasing more legal proof in such complex estates.
